What Are Our Principal Tasks?
- Increase citizen involvement with local services, especially those provided by SBC
- To be an active and community-based service with a focus upon direct communication with citizens, local organisations and local and Swindon–wide agencies
- Increase citizen engagement with the local and national democratic processes
- To offer the same high quality, committed response to all citizens within their neighbourhoods
- Take part in engagement activities organised by other service areas of the Council and partner agencies to widen the scope of our effectiveness
- Constantly and routinely evaluate what works best, in order to be more effective and to build on what is already in place
- Give high priority to seeking out new and innovative ways to engage with the citizens of Swindon
- Promote cohesion, neighbourliness, health and well-being in neighbourhoods
- Facilitate informal learning opportunities to enable citizens to make meaningful contributions to the development of neighbourhood management processes
- Develop sustainable and positive relationships with local people, finding ways to ensure their regular involvement in activities and issues in their neighbourhood
- Work in ways which reflect the SBC’s Community Engagement Strategy
