All enquiries about marriages in the established church (either the Church of England or the Church in Wales) should be made to the clergyman of your local parish church.

If you intend to marry in any other religious building, you must give notice in the register office for the district where you live

Whilst the law relating to civil marriages has been changed to allow couples to marry in the register office of their choice or approved premises, the law covering marriages in religious buildings has not been altered. This means that you can only marry in a religious building in a different district to where either of you live if one of you usually worships there. You can also marry in a different district if there is no building of your religion in the district or districts where you and your partner live.

In some cases a registrar from the district covering the building must attend the wedding. You should therefore find out if this is necessary and confirm that they can attend.
