The Government provides support for people on low incomes to help them pay their rent and Council Tax. To claim Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit you will need to fill in a Benefit application form and provide evidence to support your claim.

Mondays and Fridays are the busiest days to visit the Benefits Service here.  So, why not come in to see us on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to reduce your waiting time.  If you want to discuss your claim, please don't forget you must book an appointment!

Home Visits

We also offer a Home Visit service for people who:

  • Have recently suffered bereavement
  • Are disabled
  • Have learning difficulties or language barriers
  • Have young children under five years of age
  • Have a baby that is two months old or younger
  • Are of pensionable age.
