Welcome to the Allotment information page.

There are 25 allotment sites run by the Borough Council. With a total of 1200 plots.

There is a high demand for allotment plots and in some cases there may be a long wait for a plot. Please see the table below for an indication of the waiting list for each plot.

Allotment Price List 2008

All sizes are approximate

Full Plot (250 sq m) Half Plot (125 sq m)
No Discount £38.00 £19.00
Swindon Card £29.50 £14.75
Concession 1 £14.75 £7.50
Concession 2 £8.75 £4.50

Waiting lists are subject to change and we will endeavour to always give up to date information.

Priority will be given to people on the waiting list who do not already have an allotment plot.  Priority will also be given to people who live in the non parished areas of Swindon.

Unfortunately we are unable to give an accurate waiting time for any particular plot. if you are on a waiting list we will inform you when a plot becomes available.

Due to the nature of allotment gardening it is quite often the case that an overgrown plot has a sitting tenant, so this is not an indication that the allotment plot is available

We have an inspection regime to make sure that plots that have been left uncultivated are picked up on. These plots will be re-offered, once due procedures have been followed.
