Guide to Fitness Classes

Guide to Fitness logoMoving Fitness Forward is our comprehensive fitness programme designed to provide all of our customers with a varied and exciting choice of classes.

Multi-level teaching is applied to our classes to ensure that beginners through to advanced participants can attend any class and work at a level most suited to their present level of fitness.

Our classes are delivered weekly across seven centres by professionally qualified instructors.

We believe that we offer an unrivalled choice of easy to follow and challenging fitness activities to suit all of your exercise needs at an affordable price, all that you need to keep your fitness moving forward!

Fitness Class Wallchart and Grading System

Our new fitness wallchart is available at all of the councils recreation sites. We run a comprehensive range of fitness classes for all abilities - so come along and give one a go!

We have simplified our class grading system:

  • The number (ranging from 1-3) focuses on the intensity of the class. However, multi-level teaching is applied to all classes which enables all participants to work at their own level.
  • The letter (ranging from A-C) focuses on the complexity of the class. It describes how complicated the class is in relation to the choreography and level of co-ordination required. All instructors will offer alternatives and multi-level teaching techniques enabling participants to work at their own level.
  • The level of intensity is detailed prior to the description for the class(es), whilst the level of complexity appears to the right of the class.
