SwindonCard

About the SwindonCard

Specimen SwindonCardThe SwindonCard is your gateway to discounted leisure facilities and council services.

The launch of the SwindonCard on 13 January 2003 was the initial step of the introduction of Swindon Borough Council's new charging policy.

The Council recognised the need to target subsidies to those on low incomes and the new scheme is aimed to increase social inclusion whilst continuing to provide ‘best value’ to residents and regular users.

It offers discounted use of council facilities and activities, and provides priority booking for the use of leisure facilities. The SwindonCard is valid for one year from the date of purchase. The cost of the card varies: Swindon Borough Council residents will pay less than non-residents and those claiming benefit may be entitled to a Concession 1 or Concession 2 SwindonCard.

With over 40,000 cards currently in circulation, the SwindonCard has been more successful than we could have ever hoped for.

We are constantly trying to provide improved value for money to SwindonCard holders and have already run two very successful promotions.

More recently we have given select businesses the opportunity to offer discounts and special deals to SwindonCard holders, which has been met with enthusiasm.  We currently have over thirty companies who recognise the value of the SwindonCard. Look out for the 'SwindonCard Discounts Available Here' stickers.

Is Your SwindonCard About to Expire?

Renewing your SwindonCard couldn’t be easier – simply present your SwindonCard at reception at any issuing site, with proof of current address and the appropriate annual fee and we will update your SwindonCard details in an instant. No more application forms to complete (unless your circumstances have changed).

Those SwindonCard holders who are entitled to a Concession 1 or Concession 2 SwindonCard will be glad to hear that the process for renewal has been simplified. You will need to complete a SwindonCard Renewal Form, provide proof of benefit (as detailed on the application form), proof of current address, the appropriate annual fee and your SwindonCard at reception at any issuing site and we will update your SwindonCard.

Leisure Passport holders (X-Training, Golf etc.) need do nothing. Your SwindonCard will remain valid until your Leisure Passport expires.
