BBQ and picnic
You are welcome to picnic in the grounds of Lydiard Park but fires and portable BBQs (including gas barbeques) are not allowed.
We have static BBQs that are available to hire during the summer season. These must be booked in advance. As the number of BBQs are limited, we recommend early booking
BBQs are available from April to October 2012
You will soon be able to book BBQs at Lydiard Park online! This system is not yet ready, bookings can only be taken by telephone or in person. Please see our frequently asked question section for more information about our BBQs.
Prices for BBQ
Large BBQ serving up to 40 people £40 per session
Small BBQ serving up to 15 people £25 per session
1 Session = All day during week days, 11.30am to half an hour before park closes.
Or ½ day Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays in June, July & August, 11.30am to 3.30pm or 5.30pm to half an hour before park closes.
Or All day Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays in April, May, September and October, 11.30am to half an hour before park closes.
Concession price available for charitable organisations. Please contact us for more information.
No commercial or charity fundraising events are allowed in the BBQ area – food or other items are not allowed to be sold within the Park. If you are planning an event, Lydiard Park has an Events Field that is available to hire please check our section on this website about holding an event at Lydiard Park or contact us on 01793 770401 or email lydiardpark@swindon.gov.uk to discuss options.
BBQ / Picnic area is for use of all Park users – it cannot be dominated by one group or organisation.so if you are planning a large get together or party (more than 50 people), please contact our Events Officer to find out more about hiring the Lydiard Park events field on Lydiard Park on 01793 770401 or email lydiardpark@swindon.gov.uk or look at our pages on holding an event here.Link
A responsible adult must supervise all BBQs. Groups of people under 16 years old will not be allowed to use our BBQ’s unless they have adult supervision.
