From M4 All routes including Oxford A420, Marlborough A346
Exit M4 at Junction 16 signed to Swindon West / Wootton Bassett / Calne. At the roundabout take the exit towards Swindon, onto A3102 Great Western Way, at the 1st roundabout, get in left hand lane, to take 1st exit onto Whitehill Way B4553, following brown signs to Lydiard Park. At the next roundabout, you have option to:
1. - turn left (1st exit) onto Hook Street, follow the road for about 1 mile and turn right into Lydiard Park (Hook Street entrance)
2. -take the 2nd exit to stay on Whitehill Way and at the next roundabout, turn left (1st exit) into Grange Park Way and follow browns signs for Lydiard House & Church . At the 2nd mini-roundabout, turn right (2nd exit) onto Hay Lane and turn left into Lydiard Park (Hay Lane entrance)
From Swindon Centre
Follow signs to West Swindon, leaving town centre along Faringdon Road, at the Park Lane roundabout, turn left (1st exit) onto Westcott Place B4289. At the next roundabout, turn right (2nd exit) onto Wootton Bassett Road A3102, under railway bridge, at the Mannington roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Great Western Way A3102. At the next roundabout, turn right (3rd exit) onto Whitehill Way B4553, following brown signs to Lydiard Park. At the next roundabout, you have the option to:
1. - turn left (1st exit) onto Hook Street, follow the road for about 1 mile and turn right into Lydiard Park (Hook Street entrance)

From Cirencester A419 / M5
Turn off the A419 at the A4311 exit towards Swindon N & W, turn right at A4311, turn left to stay on A4311 and keep right at the fork in road. Continue onto Thamesdown Drive, then follow this road for about 3 miles towards West Swindon (B4534) down Mead Way, at the roundabout by Rivermead Industrial Park & Fitness First Gym, turn right (3rd exit) onto Whitehill Way / B4534. Stay on Whitehill Way, past Link Centre and Shaw Ridge Leisure Park, following the brown signs to Lydiard Park at the Tewkesbury Cross roundabout. At the next roundabout, you have the option to:
1. - Turn right (3rd exit) onto Grange Park Way and follow browns signs for Lydiard House & church. At the 2nd mini-roundabout, turn right (2nd exit) onto Hay Lane and turn left into Lydiard Park (Hook Street entrance)
2.- Go straight ahead (ignoring sign to turn right for Lydiard Park house & church) and at next roundabout, turn right (3rd exit) onto Hook Street, drive about 1 mile and turn right into Lydiard Park (Hay Lane entrance) .
Sat Nav directions
Lydiard Park's postcode for Sat Nav directions is SN5 3PA. This will direct drivers to the Hook Street entrance to the park, please follow the brown road signs if you prefer to use the Hay Lane entrance (house and church side).
Car Parking at Lydiard Park
There are car parks at both the main park entrance off Hook Street (follow brown signs to Lydiard Park) and the house, conference centre and church entrance off Hay Lane (follow brown signs with house & church symbol). Car parking and entry to the grounds is free.
Directions by bus
Buses run frequently – every 10 minutes - from the town centre. The bus stop to start your journey is on Fleming Way near Swindon Bus Station and less than 5 minutes walk from Swindon Railway Station, the service is Thamesdown Transport route No1 and 1A (make sure the bus destination says Middleleaze or Ramleaze.) You get out at Wilmot Close bus stop and you will see right hand turning into Lydiard Park.
Directions on foot
There is pedestrian access at both the Hay Lane (near to the Wilmot Close bus stop) and Hook Street entrances to the park. There are also on foot / cyclist entrances from Darcey Close and Gower Close in Grange Park.
Directions by bicycle:
There are signed cycle routes round Swindon, linking Lydiard Park to Swindon town centre, West and North Swindon as well as from other country parks including Coate Water, Shaw Forest and Moulden Hill. A cycle route map of Swindon is available on this website http://swindon.pindar.com
Cyclists can use both the Hay Lane and Hook Street entrances to the park as well as the foot / cyclist only entrances from Darcey Close and Gower Close in Grange Park. There are bicycle racks by the visitor centre and by the stable buildings next to the walled garden.
Opening Times & Admission
Please note that Lydiard House will be closed to visitors on Tuesday 31 January, Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 February 2012 to enable a deep spring clean of the State Rooms.
The Park
The grounds of Lydiard Park are open every day (except Christmas day) until dusk. Car parking and entry to grounds is free.
Dogs are allowed with their walkers, if under control.
Lydiard House and Walled Garden
Open Tuesdays to Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays:
- 11.00am-5.00pm March-October
- 11.00am-4.00pm -November-February
Cafe and Tea Rooms
The park cafe near the play area is open all year round and the new Coach House Tea Rooms are open seasonally.
Entry tickets to the House and Walled Garden are purchased from the ticket desk in the new porch entrance of Lydiard House.

Family/Children's Trail

Accessibility
There is wheelchair access to the House, Church and Visitor Centre. A drop off point and parking is available in the courtyard of Lydiard House for disabled visitors. This is reached via the Lydiard Park driveway off Hay Lane / Tregoze Way, signposted with brown signs to Lydiard Park and Church.
An accessible toilet is situated at the Visitor Centre – from the House this is reached by a 250 metre semi-serviced drive, which is not accessible by vehicle. Please bring your RADAR key. Toilets are also available at the Coach House and Stable Buildings.
Personal tours for blind or partially sighted visitors by museum staff can be arranged by prior agreement and guide dogs are welcome in the house. Story box audio guides are available in the Library, Dining Room, Drawing Room, State Bedroom and Lady Diana Spencer room.
