About the Committee
The Environmental, Economic & Sustainability Overview & Scrutiny Committee is responsible for reviewing any matter in relation to the local environment, the local economy and the growth and development of Swindon.
Its responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, scrutinising and developing policy recommendations
- Monitoring performance and progress against corporate priorities
- Scrutinising the Cabinet Members for:
- Local Environment and Sustainability
- Health, Housing & Social Care
- Leisure, Culture and Recreation
- Highways, Transport and Strategic Planning
- Scrutinising the Economic Development and Enterprise and Environmental Sustainability Blocks of the Local Area Agreement.
Issues that may be considered by the Committee may include:
- Environment and sustainability
- Regeneration
- Housing
- Transport and strategic transport planning
- Waste and recycling
- Economic and cultural development
- Library service.
