Walled Garden

The plants

The Walled Garden welcomes visitors all year round, these are the highlights:

In Spring, look out for a host of flowering bulbs including some rare 17th century variety of tulips.  Hyacinths and narcissi provide yet more colour and fragrance.

The Garden is at its peak in the summer months with stunning displays of traditional English flowers including poppies, hollyhocks, roses and sweet peas.

As the weather turns into Autumn, look out for the fruit trees trained along the walls and in the centre of the flower beds.  The garden boasts apple, pear, greengage, peach, plum, cherry, apricot and fig trees with rare varieties of date-plum and 'Marie-Louise' pears.
