We are thrilled to share the exciting news that St Mary’s Church’s Reverend Captain Clive Deverell and the Right Honourable Sir Robert Buckland KBE KC MP have been bestowed with the esteemed title of Honorary Canons of Bristol Cathedral. This is a remarkable achievement for two individuals who have contributed so much to our local community.

Reverend Captain Clive Deverell is a familiar face in Lydiard Tregoze. Since his commission as a Church Army Evangelist in 1986, Reverend Deverell has been a pillar of strength and compassion for many. As the Vicar of St. Mary’s Lydiard Tregoze since 2010, he has nurtured the spiritual well-being of our community as well as the physical environment, overseeing conservation efforts and even championing sustainability through initiatives like installing solar panels.

Sir Robert Buckland KBE KC MP, born in Llanelli, Wales, has a commitment to justice and governance that has earned him tenure as Solicitor General and later as Lord Chancellor. Sir Robert remains connected to his roots, regularly attending church services and supporting local initiatives.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, on Tuesday, March 5th, at 7:30 pm, the bell ringers at St. Mary’s Lydiard Tregoze will rang a quarter peal.
