Ken White Week at Lydiard House Museum
20th June - 2nd July
Please note that due to the hot temperatures expected this week, we have altered the opening times of Lydiard House Museum for the comfort and safety of our visitors and staff.
Our two artist-led activities, due to take place on Wednesday and Thursday, have also been rescheduled. Please read below for more details.
Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you to Lydiard House Museum soon.
Join us at Lydiard House Museum as we celebrate the life and work of renowned Swindon artist Ken White (1943-2025).
A new special exhibition titled ‘Ken White: The Creative Legacy of a Swindon Artist’ will bring together, for the first time, artworks by Ken White from collections across Swindon Museums.
Best known for his striking murals, evocative paintings of Swindon’s railway heritage and his work on Virgin Atlantic’s iconic ‘Scarlet Lady’ livery, Ken captured the character and spirit of Swindon throughout his career. Following his passing in 2025, this exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore his remarkable artistic legacy.
The exhibition will also feature a recent addition to the Lydiard collection; ‘Lydiard House’, 1991, a watercolour which was recently given to the museum by the Friends of Lydiard Park.
