Café and tea rooms

Opening times

When it comes to eating, Lydiard Park has a great range of options to choose from. We have two cafes situated within the park as well as a designated BBQ and picnic field.

Forest Café

The Forest Café is located near the Hook Street entrance, next to the children’s play area. The café has plenty to offer including hot and cold drinks, snacks and light lunches, i.e. home-made soups, jacket potatoes, toasted paninis, along with freshly baked pastries and a tempting selection of cakes.

If you fancy some of our tasty ice cream, look out for the Ice Cream Parlour, situated next door to the café (only open during peak season).

The café also offers a full range of Walls impulse ice creams and at peak times and weekends our fast food van will also be operating somewhere near the café.

The café has indoor seating for 60 covers and further outside patio seating areas.

The Forest Café is open Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9.30am to 4.00pm.

Coach House Tea Rooms

The Coach House Tea Room is located near the Hay Lane entrance, in between the Walled Garden and Lydiard House.

Enjoy the atmospheric setting of the restored horse stalls and stable buildings with a selection of hot and cold drinks, cream teas, light lunches, jacket potatoes, homemade soups, cakes and snacks.

The tearooms has indoor seating for 32 covers and further outdoor seating in our two courtyards.

Afternoon tea is also available at the tearooms by advanced booking only. Please note due to the size of the seating area, afternoon tea reservations are limited, for reservation enquiries please call 01793 465280.

Please note: we are open subject to weather conditions. If it is very wet or there are high winds, we will close, but the takeaway window at the Forest Café will remain open.

The Coach House Tea Rooms are open Monday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
